TTR was selected to construct two new lead tracks for GO Transit into the Don Yard Layover Facility and Harbour lead. As construction manager, TTR supervised all construction activities, inclusive of labour and materials associated with the required works.
TTR managed the following activities as part of the contract with GO Transit:
- Preparation of sub-ballast for both lead tracks to required grade for application of twelve (12”) of clear granite stone ballast
- Removal and disposal of any and all extraneous soils and or soil materials
- Construction of approximately 3,700 track feet of new 115lb rail for new leads
- Installation of new #2 THW end plated track ties for new leads, closure and upgrade section
- Installation of two (2) new #8 115lb LH & RH SGM Crossovers, inclusive
- Removal and closure of an existing #11 switch with new 115lb rail and new track ties
- Removal and closure of an existing #8 switch to be relocated approximately 200 feet on the Harbour Lead
- Removal and disposal of 2,300 track feet of existing track and the realignment of approximately 300 track feet
- Removal and relocation of a road crossing on the Harbour Lead
- Installation of relocated road crossing
- Surfacing and lining of all new track construction
- Commissioning of all new track construction
